About the Role

The HR Generalist will be responsible for both general Human Resources and Labour Relations functions, including but not limited to:

  • Employee relations and conflict resolution
  • Disability management and return to work programs
  • Conducting investigations and grievance handling
  • ADP administration and HRIS management
  • Providing general day-to-day employee assistance and support
  • Developing and implementing employee policies and company standards

This is a full-time position out of our head office, located in a major Canadian city. TEAM Group offers a hybrid work model, with three days in the office and two days remote.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing, updating, and implementing employee policies and company standards to ensure compliance with HR best practices
  • Performing routine tasks required to administer and execute Human Resource programs, including compensation, benefits, and non-work related leaves of absences
  • Assisting with employee-related issues, including investigations, conflict resolution, grievance handling, performance management, disciplinary action, and terminations
  • Administering and overseeing the disability management process, including return to work programs for all non-occupational injuries or illnesses
  • Maintaining an accurate database of employee records in the HRIS system
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws, and recommended best practices to management
  • Managing and delivering training and development programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge and promote career growth
  • Providing professional correspondence, including formal letters, memos, and notices to various stakeholders
  • Assisting with the management of a performance appraisal process that aligns with business needs and drives high performance
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 6 years of progressive Human Resources experience
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a Generalist capacity
  • Exposure and support to working with management client groups will be considered an asset
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources is required
  • CHRP or CHRL designation is strongly preferred
  • Experience using ADP is an asset
  • Prior experience in an industrial setting is an asset
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is preferred but not necessary
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
