About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Health Records Administrator to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our Trauma Registry team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and abstract data from various sources, including medical records and other documentation.
  • Score data by injury and enter it into our Trauma Registry system, ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures.
  • Assist with the operation and maintenance of the Trauma Registry, including database management and quality control checks.
  • Notify supervisors and team members of any issues or problems that arise, and work collaboratively to resolve them.
  • Transfer Trauma Registry data to the BC Trauma Registry, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Perform statistical analysis of data as requested, using various software applications and tools.
  • Generate reports and summaries of data analysis, providing insights and recommendations for continuous quality improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and researchers.
  • Process approved release of data requests, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the review and development of policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Prepare and submit workload activity reports, tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an approved Health Record Administrator or Health Record Practitioner diploma program.
  • Successful completion of the Canadian College of Health Record Administrator's examination at the Certificant level.
  • One year's recent, related experience in data interpretation, analysis, and coding in an acute care setting.
  • Broad knowledge of the Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) and Injury Severity Scoring.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian Institute of Health Information's coding and abstracting systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and present data effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop policy and procedure protocols and manuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
