About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Health Records Administrator to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our Trauma Registry team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Interpretation and Analysis: Interpret and abstract data from various sources, including medical records and computerized databases, to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Database Management: Assist with the operation and maintenance of the Trauma Registry database, including identifying and resolving data quality issues.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate reports and perform statistical analysis to support research studies, quality improvement initiatives, and administrative purposes.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers, to ensure data is accurately interpreted and utilized.
  • Policy Development and Review: Participate in the development and review of policies and procedures related to data management and quality improvement.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Graduate from an approved Health Record Administrator or Health Record Practitioner diploma program, with a minimum of one year's recent experience in data interpretation, analysis, and coding in an acute care setting.
  • Skills and Abilities: Broad knowledge of the Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) and Injury Severity Scoring, as well as Canadian Institute of Health Information's coding and abstracting systems.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in advanced computerized databases and related software applications, including Windows, MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Access, and statistical analysis software.
