Radiation Technologist, CT Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiation Technologist, CT Specialist to join our team at Surrey Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our Medical Imaging department, you will be responsible for performing special procedure examinations in CT, utilizing a client and family-centered care model and adhering to the standards of professional practice.
Key Responsibilities- Examination and Imaging
Perform special procedure examinations in CT, adhering to established procedures and protocols, and ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety. - Patient Care and Safety
Monitor patients during procedures, respond to possible contrast media reactions or other emergent situations, and ensure the safe operation of radiology equipment. - Equipment Maintenance and Quality Control
Perform quality control duties, including scheduling and performing equipment tests, and maintaining accurate records of equipment performance and maintenance. - Supervision and Leadership
Supervise and lead a team of Medical Imaging personnel, including Radiological Technologists, and provide guidance and support to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the department. - Communication and Collaboration
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff, and collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care and service delivery. - Professional Development and Education
Participate in ongoing professional development and education, including training and certification programs, to maintain and enhance your skills and knowledge in CT imaging.
- Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
- Completion of an advanced specialty program in Computed Tomography
- One (1) year recent, related experience, including supervisory experience
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification - Basic Life Support (BCLS) level
- Strong knowledge of CT imaging principles and practices, as well as radiology equipment operation and maintenance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on patient care and safety
