Imaging Specialist, CT Department

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiation Technologist, CT Specialist to join our team at Fraser Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing special procedure examinations in CT, observing safe radiation protection practices, and ensuring the highest level of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform special procedure examinations in CT, adhering to departmental policy and procedures.
- Monitor patient safety and well-being during procedures, responding to any emergent situations.
- Operate computerized imaging equipment, processing and archiving acquired data.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless workflow.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Develop and maintain statistical data related to department activity levels, attendance, and performance appraisals.
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety rules, regulations, and practices, including Fire, Disaster, WHMIS, Smart Moves, and Infection Control.
- Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
- Completion of an advanced specialty program in Computed Tomography and one year recent, related experience, including supervisory experience.
- Completion of an Intravenous Therapy training course when required by site practice.
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for Medical Imaging practitioners established by the CAMRT and/or other relevant national professional associations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practice related to designated modality.
- Demonstrated knowledge of organization policies, procedures, and standards of care, including practice of safe work procedures with modality equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, coworkers, physicians, and other healthcare staff.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead teams, ensuring effective workflow and patient care.
