Job Summary

The Human Resources Consultant (HRC) is a key member of the Northwestel team, responsible for providing strategic human resources leadership and support to the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of business operations and a ability to drive HR initiatives that align with the company's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business leaders to understand their HR needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on HR-related matters, including employee relations, talent management, and organizational development.
  • Lead recruitment efforts for senior positions and develop strategies to attract top talent.
  • Manage the performance management process, including goal setting, feedback, and coaching.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the overall client experience.
  • Develop and implement personnel strategies, policies, and procedures to address the organization's human resource requirements.
  • Advise managers and employees on personnel policies, compensation, and benefit programs.
  • Act as a liaison between the HR team and senior business leaders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Research and prepare job descriptions, benchmarking, and competency appraisal measures and systems.
  • Manage HR information and related records systems.
  • Mentor HR Representatives to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in organizational health and safety programs and ensure compliance with all safe work practices and procedures.

Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resources or related discipline with a minimum of five years operational HR experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship management, oral and written communication, and listening skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS.
  • Customer-focused attitude with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate social responsibility and knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Passion for people and ability to build meaningful relationships cross-departmentally.
  • Ability to work with confidential information and balance corporate objectives with employee requirements.
  • Strong sense of integrity and ability to maintain discretion under duress.
  • Ability to understand the value of diversity.
