Your Role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead our Yukon operations.

This leadership position offers the right candidate the opportunity to cultivate a service-oriented business that aligns with their personal and cultural values while addressing the needs of the communities we serve. We are looking for a proactive, self-driven, and collaborative Senior Project Manager to join our team of specialists dedicated to managing projects and fostering relationships across our Northern Canada division. This role will empower and support a team of project managers and assistant project managers.

In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with clients to offer strategic insights and have the fulfilling opportunity to effect meaningful change through projects that improve access to housing, clean drinking water, education, and community infrastructure. Our team is committed to enhancing outcomes in the communities we serve while promoting reconciliation, economic engagement, climate resilience, and environmental stewardship. Contribute to making a tangible difference and shaping a brighter future for communities in the Yukon and Northern Territories.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, delegate, and empower multiple project delivery teams while overseeing their performance. Select, organize, and influence the effectiveness of multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Implement training and tools to enhance service delivery.
  • Establish a personal brand based on your expertise and enthusiasm.
  • Manage account activities and foster a culture of quality.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and adopt a client-focused approach. Clients rely on your knowledge, skills, and expertise to navigate contractual and technical challenges to achieve their objectives.
  • Engage with various client groups in both public and private sectors, including Indigenous governing bodies, community organizations, local authorities, and governmental agencies.
  • Consult with communities, funding partners, and design and construction professionals to plan and execute capital building and infrastructure projects.
  • Assist Indigenous communities and local authorities in developing economic opportunities through strategic land planning and business development.
  • Support Indigenous communities and local authorities in emergency preparedness and recovery from climate-related disasters.
  • Lead programs of work and large-scale capital projects, varying in complexity and scope.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients and respond to new business opportunities with support from the Business Development Team, Principal, or Regional Vice President.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing project mandates of varying sizes and complexities, involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in securing new business, winning key pursuits, and mentoring new team members.
  • A university degree or diploma in business administration, commerce, finance, engineering, or a related field, complemented by practical experience.
  • Knowledge of various construction methodologies, project management frameworks, financial management, contract law, and relevant legislation.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical abilities.
  • A comprehensive written and verbal communication skill set, including strong presentation, stakeholder facilitation, and report writing capabilities.
  • Effective client and people management skills, with the ability to influence others and resolve a variety of commercial, interpersonal, and technical issues.
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills to engage with clients, colleagues, and external industry experts.
  • Professional industry credentials such as PMP, P.Eng., CET, RA, or similar recognized designations are considered advantageous.
  • Preference for candidates with demonstrated experience working respectfully in cross-cultural environments, particularly with Indigenous communities.
  • Experience in building and nurturing long-term client relationships and collaborating with local governments and First Nations is a significant asset.

What You Can Expect

  • An opportunity to make a real impact in our communities.
  • A flexible work environment.
  • A thorough onboarding experience.
  • Extensive professional development, training, and mentorship opportunities.
