Land Use Planning Coordinator

The Kativik Regional Government (KRG) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to fill the position of Land Use Planning Coordinator. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity to join our team and contribute to the development of our region.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Coordination: Provide leadership and coordination to the land use planning section, ensuring the effective implementation of projects and programs.
- Master Planning and Zoning: Ensure the production, revision, and implementation of master plans and zoning bylaws, including public consultations and special projects.
- Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with the KRG communication department to develop communication tools, including a web platform for permit issuance.
- Project Management: Assist in the preparation and management of budgets related to land use planning, monitor project timetables, and ensure compliance with project deadlines.
- Reporting and Administration: Assist the Assistant-Director with the management of activities, including drafting and revision of reports, contracts, agreements, and funding requests for special projects.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Urban or Land Use Planning, or a related field. Diploma in public administration, management, or a related field would be an asset.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in municipal or regional land use planning. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in managing and supervising a multidisciplinary team.
- Skills: Solid leadership skills, demonstrated resourcefulness, ability to work with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and ArcGIS. Strong planning and organizational skills, demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Language: Written and oral working knowledge of at least two (2) of the following languages: Inuktitut, English, and French.
- Salary: Minimum $87,451 yearly - Maximum $ (to be determined)
- Benefits: Cost of living differential, minimum of $8,500/year. Food allowance, minimum of $3,903/year. Annual leave trips, maximum of 3 per person annually. Group benefits, including Simplified Pension Plan. Vacation, 30 days/year. Statutory Holidays, 20 days, including 10 during Christmas holidays.
