About the Role
We're seeking a skilled Field Claims Representative to join our growing property team at Intact Financial Corporation.
This 12-month contract opportunity will support the Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia.
What You'll Do Here:
- Evaluate and analyze information, insurance policies, and damages to determine coverage in each situation.
- Evaluate potential liability of insured parties and third parties by consulting with experts.
- Negotiate with clients, claimants, attorneys, and insurers to settle claims within your authority.
- Manage field assignments on behalf of internal adjusters.
- Participate in claims and work management when volume is high.
- Collaborate with various teams, including appraisal, underwriting, and legal.
- Ensure effective cost management.
- Stay up-to-date on current trends in insurance products, appraisal, and investigation techniques.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Hold an Adjuster license.
- University degree or relevant training and experience.
- At least five years of experience as an adjuster, preferably on the road.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Ability to travel on short notice.
- Knowledge of insurance products.
- Bilingual (French and English) is an asset.
