We are seeking a:
Agricultural Consultant, Poultry SectorStatus: Permanent, full-time
In collaboration with the commercial analyst, you will be tasked with performing studies and analyses within the poultry sector to offer strategic recommendations to the network. You will work closely with the poultry commercial team and the broader network to meet business development objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with the quota management lead: actively engage in planning, strategically distributing quotas, and achieving production timelines for chicken and turkey quotas across our farms, cooperatives, and their member-clients.Ensure adherence to regulatory standards concerning quotas in the context of supply management.Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the utilization of AG Connection by poultry clients.Optimize data usage with available tools (aviscan, optichair, etc.) for business growth in conjunction with the team.Analyze technical performance reports in poultry production within the network alongside the nutrition and technical advisory teams.Evaluate the profitability of construction initiatives for network farms and our member producers by managing growth and developing long-term business strategies in line with supply management regulations.Business Development (30%)
Monitor market trends and national and international market intelligence;Provide technical and economic assistance to network members;Support other business units of Sollio Agriculture as required.Client Advisory (10%)
Create new tools, guides, and training materials to assist advisors and clients;Possess a comprehensive understanding of supply management regulations and provide recommendations to producers during development projects.All of this will be accomplished with the support of your colleagues and the poultry commercial director. Your Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the poultry sector and/or membership in the OAQ or as a technologist;Strong understanding of supply management regulations;Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently;Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to influence others;Bilingual proficiency (French and English).Recognized for your learning capabilities, report generation, and synthesis skills.Actively seek opportunities to stay informed, acquire new knowledge and skills, and engage in experiences that enhance your professional development;Prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance, ensuring effective communication and management aligned with organizational objectives;Demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and ensure consistency between your words and actions.Sales and persuasion abilities.Your Benefits
