The City of Wetaskiwin is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to oversee the management of our recreational facilities. This full-time, permanent position is vital for ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of all recreational venues.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the operations staff in delivering exceptional recreational services.
- Recruit, train, and evaluate the performance of recreation personnel.
- Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Oversee maintenance tasks for aquatic facilities, ensuring water quality and safety standards are met.
- Coordinate maintenance and preparation of sports fields, including line painting and upkeep.
- Manage the installation and removal of ice surfaces for seasonal activities.
- Collaborate with facilities management on maintenance projects and improvements.
- Assist in the planning and execution of community events held at recreation facilities.
- Prepare reports and maintain statistical records related to facility usage and operations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and city policies.
Qualifications
- Certification in Arena and Pool Operations.
- A minimum of three years of experience in facility operations, preferably within a municipal setting.
- Leadership training and supervisory experience are advantageous.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to foster positive relationships.
- Comprehensive knowledge of facility operations, including maintenance of pools and sports fields.
- Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
