Job Title: Director, Facilities and Operations

The University of Calgary is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Facilities and Operations to join its Faculty of Kinesiology. This is a key leadership role that will play a critical part in ensuring the faculty's facilities are maintained and operated to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the maintenance and operations of Kinesiology complex, including capital renewal and maintenance priorities, project management, and special event management.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures aligned with the faculty's strategic plan.
  • Lead the creation and continuous improvement of strategic plans, ensuring alignment with the Faculty of Kinesiology's and the University's overarching strategies.
  • Manage minor and major renovation and capital projects, working closely with central university departments and units.
  • Lead a high-performance team of management and professional staff, providing coaching and mentorship to ensure the team's success.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field and 5 years of relevant senior leadership experience.
  • Extensive experience in project management, supervision, administration, and budget planning.
  • Knowledge of sport and recreation industry and special events management experience.
  • Ability to tactfully diffuse and present solutions to senior leaders in a collaborative manner.
