About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Truck Mechanic to join our team at 2685441 Ontario Inc. as a Heavy Equipment Repair Specialist. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Inspection and Repair: Conduct thorough inspections of commercial transport trucks to identify and repair or replace faulty parts and components.
  • Diagnostic and Troubleshooting: Use advanced diagnostic tools to identify and resolve mechanical issues with truck systems, including engine, transmission, and brake systems.
  • Parts and Labour Estimation: Accurately estimate the cost of parts and labour required for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Scheduled Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance services on commercial vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all repairs and maintenance work meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in heavy equipment repair or a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with dusty conditions.
  • Physical Capabilities: Standing for extended periods, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Area of Specialization: Engine repair, electrical and electronic systems, diesel engines, alignment, steering, and suspension, brake systems, hydraulic systems, ignition and electrical systems, automatic transmission, engine repair and overhaul, truck-trailer repair, and front-end components.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, dependable, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, judgement, reliability, and team player.
