Position Overview

As the Business Development Executive, you will report directly to the President of Puratos Canada. Your primary responsibility will be to devise and implement a comprehensive strategy for our fruit and crème fillings, while fostering collaboration among business development and operational teams. Our goal is to enhance our leadership in the health and wellness sector, ensuring continuous innovation and growth, ultimately delivering meaningful solutions to our clients and contributing to a healthier world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Research: Conduct in-depth analysis to identify industry opportunities and trends.
  • Strategic Development: Formulate and execute strategies to meet business unit objectives aligned with company goals.
  • Product Innovation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, plan, and launch new products.
  • Market Strategy: Design and implement growth strategies tailored to specific sectors, including Retail, Industry, and Foodservice.
  • Partnership Development: Establish and manage strategic alliances to broaden the business unit's reach.
  • Financial Oversight: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis to maintain the business unit's financial health.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and guide the business unit team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture.
  • Performance Evaluation: Set key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor progress against established targets.
  • Client Engagement: Maintain a customer-centric approach, understanding client needs and enhancing satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate potential risks that could impact the business unit's success.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement processes for ongoing enhancement, adapting strategies based on feedback and market changes.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated experience in business development and sales, with a focus on customer relationship management.
  • 5+ years of experience in the food industry, preferably within the US/Canada market.
  • Experience in R&D and/or manufacturing is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and internal teams.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Proactive with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for client engagements and business development initiatives.
  • Understanding of financial management, manufacturing processes, and operational excellence to drive growth.
  • Capable of managing complex situations and change effectively.
  • Exhibits high emotional intelligence, adapting communication style to suit team dynamics.
  • Skilled stakeholder manager with a balanced and positive approach.
