Role Overview
The Ready Mix Driver plays a crucial role in the daily delivery of Ready Mix Concrete to various job sites, including residential clients and other sectors. This position emphasizes building strong customer relationships and delivering exceptional service with a positive demeanor, ensuring clients receive top-notch products and service from Lafarge.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with all safety and environmental regulations set by Lafarge.
- Conduct daily pre and post-trip inspections to maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality.
- Foster and maintain trusting relationships with customers in designated areas, ensuring their satisfaction.
- Deliver consistent and reliable service, creating a seamless delivery experience for customers.
- Navigate effectively around local areas to ensure timely deliveries.
- Collaborate with Logistics and Operations teams and fellow drivers to enhance service delivery.
- Be adaptable with work schedules, including availability for weekends and varying shifts.
- Understand and adhere to traffic regulations for commercial vehicles, demonstrating courtesy on the road.
- Utilize electronic devices for operational tasks, including tablets and GPS.
- Exhibit a willingness to learn and adapt quickly.
- Participate in the Lafarge Ready Mix Training Program.
- Be capable of lifting weights exceeding 50 lbs.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Preferred experience in a related field.
- Familiarity with the building materials industry and product knowledge is advantageous.
- A valid Class 3Q (Air Brakes) or Class 1Q driver's license is required.
