Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in a Mental Health Specialist role. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide direct and indirect specialized occupational therapy services to clients in various Mental Health Substance Use locations.
Key Responsibilities- Client Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of clients' functional capacity, occupational performance, and environmental supports to inform referrals and develop individualized plans.
- Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with clients, case managers, and other professionals to determine the best course of action and provide ongoing support and advice.
- Treatment and Intervention: Provide individual and group treatment to clients, collaborating with the inter-professional team to determine recovery priorities and goals.
- Program Development and Coordination: Develop and coordinate rehabilitation programs in consultation with clients, team members, and community agencies, identifying current resources and service gaps.
- Representation and Advocacy: Represent the program and service area on Fraser Health and local committees, contributing to the development of rehabilitation policy and program planning.
- Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC)
- Valid B.C. Class V Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes
- Working knowledge of current psychiatric rehabilitation, psychosocial approaches, and recovery practices
- Demonstrated leadership and presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a community team setting
