This position is part of our Good Shepherd - HOMES - Mathias Place.

Your Impact

The HOMES initiative offers supportive housing for individuals who have experienced homelessness and are managing mental health challenges. As a Community Support Cleaning Coach, you will play a vital role in assisting tenants in achieving their personal aspirations and leading fulfilling lives within the community.

  • Contribute positively to the lives of residents in various community apartment settings.
  • Provide practical support to tenants in developing independent living skills, particularly in areas such as cleaning, laundry, and organization.
  • Collaborate closely with the mental health team to advocate for and support clients.
  • Engage with tenants in their residences and various community environments.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education and experience in social services, personal support, or life skills training.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in mental health, healthcare, developmental services, or related fields is essential.
  • A practice style that emphasizes recovery and is driven by consumer needs.
  • Ability to work autonomously, demonstrate initiative, and think innovatively.
  • Proven experience working with individuals with diverse and complex health and psychosocial requirements.
  • Strong time management skills and the capability to work independently in both client homes and community settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices, aligned with the mission and values of Good Shepherd.
  • Proficiency in a language other than English is advantageous.
