About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist, Intervenor to join our team at CNIB Deafblind Community Services. As a Specialist, Intervenor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who are Deafblind to maximize their independence and engagement with the world around them.
As a Specialist, Intervenor, you will provide one-on-one service and support to individuals who are Deafblind in the home or community, facilitating access to information, communication, and environmental information. You will work collaboratively with the individual to determine their level of support and empower them to actively participate in their community.
Responsibilities- Provide one-on-one service and support to individuals who are Deafblind in the home or community.
- Facilitate access to information, communication, and environmental information.
- Work collaboratively with the individual to determine their level of support.
- Empower individuals to actively participate in their community.
We are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate individual who has:
- Knowledge of the theories and principles of intervention.
- Knowledge of Deafblindness, Deaf/Deafblind culture, and common associated health-related concerns in all life stages.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivation and flexibility with the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
