Job Summary
Brock University is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Instructor to join our team in the Department of Nursing. As a Clinical Instructor, you will play a vital role in teaching students in clinical and lab settings, supervising students, and collaborating with Nursing Lab staff and course professors to plan and organize lab activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise students in lab and clinical settings, ensuring they receive high-quality education and training.
- Collaborate with Nursing Lab staff and course professors to plan and organize lab activities, promoting a seamless learning experience for students.
- Facilitate the development and implementation of student learning plans, working closely with students to identify areas for improvement.
- Evaluate student progress during the practicum placement, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
- Complete regular, comprehensive anecdotal notes regarding student progress, advising course professors of any concerns.
- Mark all assignments designated as the responsibility of the Clinical Instructor, ensuring accurate and timely feedback.
- Facilitate student meetings and make arrangements for appropriate resources, promoting a supportive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a BScN; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical work experience in a variety of settings, including medical-surgical, maternal child, and mental health.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Ability to address concerns and manage difficult situations, and to identify and act upon emergency situations.
- Effective organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Adheres to confidentiality and privacy standards and legislation.
Additional Details
- This is a part-time contract position.
- Placements are available at various hospital sites.
