Job Title: Field Service Engineer

As a Field Service Engineer at Evertz, you will be the primary point of contact for our clients, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and technical expertise. This role requires a unique blend of technical knowledge and interpersonal skills, as you will be working closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure, commission, and troubleshoot Ethernet/IP networks for broadcast networks and video processing equipment.
  • Provide technical direction to customers on operational issues, firmware upgrades, and general maintenance.
  • Assess customer applications, diagnose issues, and recommend solutions using technical language appropriate to the customer.
  • Maintain communication links between customer service and other departments to resolve customer issues and communicate customer feedback.
  • Support product development by generating customer guides and providing technical writing groups with information on product integration and configuration.
  • Install products or systems at customer sites and deliver training to customers.
Requirements:
  • Education in Computer Networking or related recent practical experience.
  • Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Electronic Technician or engineering education or related recent practical experience.
  • A strong comfort level with Linux is highly desired.
  • Some Network trouble shooting experience.
  • Knowledge of IP Networking Protocols (IGMPv2/v3, RIP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
  • A valid Ontario driver's license.
