Miller Maintenance is a leader in providing maintenance services under contracts with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation across all five regions of the Ministry. Our position in the Ontario road and highway maintenance sector is anchored in our commitment to ongoing improvement through education, innovation, safety, and training.
Minimum Qualifications:- Valid G license with a clean driving record
- Physical capability to lift up to 50lbs
- Availability for travel and on-call duties
- DZ/AZ license
- Mechanical aptitude
- Experience in highway maintenance or construction
- Basic proficiency in computer applications
In the role of Highway Maintenance Supervisor, you will become intimately familiar with the roadways as you lead a team of maintenance workers. Your responsibilities will include organizing daily tasks and ensuring the upkeep of highway infrastructure, which involves repairing potholes, guardrails, installing minor signage, and clearing debris.
You will oversee the safe and effective operation of various equipment, including loaders, backhoes, excavators, power augers, chainsaws, lawn tractors, hand tools, and pick-up trucks, to fulfill maintenance obligations on provincial highways in accordance with contract stipulations.
Strong organizational skills are essential as you will be responsible for maintaining precise documentation, including daily inspections of vehicles and equipment, patroller logs, traffic control plans, work records, and hours of service for workers.
Additionally, you will be required to respond to emergency situations involving accidents and highway closures, providing necessary traffic control at work sites and accident scenes, including the setup and removal of traffic barriers.
