About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team as a Medical Nutrition Specialist. As a key member of our interdisciplinary health professional team, you will be responsible for directing and providing nutrition care and education to patients.

The successful candidate will initiate a cost-effective medical nutrition therapy care process, comprised of patient assessment, development of patient-centered care plans, implementation and evaluation of the plan, and ongoing monitoring. Our ideal candidate will be outcome-focused, incorporate evidence-based practice, and emphasize health promotion and disease prevention.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Dietitian who possesses the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition/Dietetics
  • Completion of an approved Dietetic internship
  • Licensed with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists
  • Eligible for membership with the Dietitians of Canada
  • Demonstrated accountability, judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Strong client focus and ability to build solid client/practitioner relationships
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
  • Leadership abilities
  • Planning, organization, and time management skills
  • Commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices, and organizational health
  • Physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position
  • Ability to travel to other sites
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
