We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Dietitian to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition advice and care to patients, families, and communities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients, families, and communities.
- Advise on diet and food and nutrition across all health sectors.
- Lead team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients, families, and communities through health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, support, and rehabilitation.
- Participate in the Integrated Dietetic Internship program, including preceptoring Dietetic Interns.
- Contribute to client care through collaboration with healthcare team providers, sharing nutrition expertise, ensuring quality and continuity of care, and supporting a range of healthcare services.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
- 3-5 years of recent related experience in an acute care or community setting.
- Completion of an approved Dietetic internship.
- Licensed with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association.
- Eligible for membership with the Dietitians of Canada.
- Certified Diabetes Educator (required to obtain and maintain this certificate within 3 years of gaining employment in the Integrated CDM model).
- Experience in Primary Healthcare an asset.
- Experience working in a rural setting with a diverse client population an asset.
- Current successful completion of a Basic Life Support (BCLS) program or willingness to obtain.
- Experience working with clients with multiple or complex chronic conditions, especially in the area of diabetes care.
- Demonstrated accountability, judgment, and decision-making skills.
- Strong client focus and ability to build solid client-practitioner relationships.
- Demonstrated communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills.

- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
- Long assignment full-time position (approx. 18-month term).
- 75 hours bi-weekly.
- Shifts include days, nights, and weekends (or other specific hours of shifts).
- Travel to various sites may be required.
$32.30 - $42.58 Hourly.
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
