Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada Nova Scotia Health Authority Full time
About the Role

The Registered Dietitian Specialist serves as a key member of the healthcare team, responsible for overseeing and managing the nutritional care and education of patients. This role involves initiating a comprehensive and cost-effective medical nutrition therapy process that includes patient assessment, the creation of individualized care plans focused on specific goals, implementation and evaluation of these plans, and continuous monitoring. The nutrition care plans are designed to achieve positive outcomes, integrate evidence-based practices, and prioritize health promotion and disease prevention.

In outpatient settings, the Registered Dietitian Specialist equips patients with effective, evidence-based techniques for self-managing their health conditions, which can lead to reduced hospital admissions.
