We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Dietitian to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition advice and care to patients, families, and communities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients, families, and communities.
  • Advise on diet and food and nutrition across all health sectors.
  • Lead team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients, clients, and communities through health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, support, and rehabilitation.
  • Participate in the Integrated Dietetic Internship program, including preceptoring Dietetic Interns.
  • Contribute to client care through collaboration with healthcare team providers, sharing nutrition expertise, ensuring quality and continuity of care, and supporting a range of healthcare services.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition/Dietetics.
  • 3-5 years of recent related experience in an acute care/community setting.
  • Completion of an approved Dietetic internship.
  • Licensed with Nova Scotia Dietetic Association.
  • Eligible for membership with the Dietitians of Canada.
  • Certified Diabetes Educator (required to obtain and maintain this certificate within 3 years of gaining employment in the Integrated CDM model).
  • Experience in Primary Healthcare an asset.
  • Experience working in a rural setting with diverse client population as asset.
  • Current successful completion of a BCLS program is required or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience working with clients with multiple/complex chronic conditions especially in the area of diabetes care.
  • Demonstrated accountability, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong client focus and ability to build solid client/practitioner relationships.
  • Demonstrated communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills.

  • Travel to other sites is required.

Working Conditions
  • Long assignment full-time position (approx. 18-month term); 75 hours bi-weekly.
  • Shifts include days, nights, and weekends (or other specific hours of shifts).
  • Travel to various sites may be required.
Compensation and Incentives

$42.58 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
