As a trusted advisor, you'll help clients navigate through times of financial distress. Our Recovery & Restructuring team assists lenders and debtors with managing challenging financial situations.

Responsibilities
  1. Deliver corporate insolvency services, identifying strategic, operational, and financial challenges, recommending immediate stabilizing activities, and providing operational and performance improvement advice.
  2. Analyze data, review accounting records, and develop financial models to support debt restructuring, refinancing, or recovery needs.
  3. Participate in formal and informal restructurings, administering formal insolvency appointments, including bankruptcies, proposals, receiverships, CCAAs, liquidations, etc.
  4. Develop relationships with special loan financiers, insolvency lawyers, business executives, etc.
  5. Prepare and review relevant statutory documentation associated with BIA, CCAA, Wind-Up Acts, Business Corporation Acts, etc.
  6. Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met.
  7. Contribute to business development initiatives and prepare competitive proposals.
  8. Work collaboratively with the engagement team.
  9. Develop new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.
  10. Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary.
Skills and Experience
  1. Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  2. Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is considered an asset.
  3. Working towards, or willingness to work towards, a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) designation.
  4. 3 years of insolvency experience; professional services experience outside of insolvency will also be considered.
  5. Working knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
