We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lawyer to join our team at Robert J. Carter Law Corporation. As a key member of our legal team, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and representation to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Advise Clients: Provide expert legal advice to clients on their rights and obligations, and represent them in legal matters.
- Perform Administrative Functions: Manage and maintain accurate records, prepare legal documents, and perform other administrative tasks related to the practice of law.
- Plead Cases: Represent clients in court, tribunals, and boards, and negotiate settlements on their behalf.
- Draw Up Legal Documents: Prepare and draft legal documents, such as contracts, agreements, and wills.
- Negotiate Settlements: Negotiate settlements with opposing parties on behalf of clients.
- Represent Interests: Represent the interests of our clients in all business-related legal matters.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field.
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
- Language: Fluency in English.
- Fast-Paced Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Attention to Detail: Maintain attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Large Workload: Manage a large workload and prioritize tasks effectively.

- Participate in Government or Community Programs: Participate in government or community programs that support newcomers and refugees.
- Assist with Immediate Settlement Needs: Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and refugees.
- Support Social and Labour Market Integration: Support the social and labour market integration of newcomers and refugees.
- Recruit Newcomers and Refugees: Recruit newcomers and refugees who were displaced by a conflict or natural disaster.
- Support Foreign Credential Recognition: Support newcomers and refugees with foreign credential recognition.
- Offer Mentorship Programs: Offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and refugees with experienced employees.
- Provide Diversity and Cross-Cultural Training: Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees.
- Participate in Government or Community Programs: Participate in government or community programs that support youth employment.
- Offer On-the-Job Training: Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth.
- Offer Mentorship, Coaching, and Networking Opportunities: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for youth.
- Provide Awareness Training: Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
- Participate in Government or Community Programs: Participate in government or community programs that support Veterans.
- Offer Mentorship, Coaching, and Networking Opportunities: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Veterans.
- Provide Awareness Training: Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for Veterans.
- Recruit Veterans: Recruit Veterans and other candidates with military experience through targeted hiring initiatives.
- Assist with Immediate Transition Needs: Assist with immediate transition needs of Veterans.
- Offer Workshops, Counselling Services, and Resources: Offer workshops, counselling services, or other resources to help Veterans navigate their transition into the civilian workforce.
- Support in Translating Military Skills: Support Veterans in translating their military skills and experience into the language of the civilian job market.
- Offer Flexible Onboarding Options: Offer flexible onboarding options to allow Veterans to gradually adapt to the civilian workplace.
- Participate in Government or Community Programs: Participate in government or community programs that support Indigenous people.
- Offer Mentorship, Coaching, and Networking Opportunities: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
- Develop and Maintain Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
- Provide Cultural Competency Training: Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
- Facilitate Access to Elders: Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
- Participate in Government or Community Programs: Participate in government or community programs that support mature workers.
- Apply Hiring Policies: Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination.
- Provide Awareness Training: Provide staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers.
- Offer Mentorship, Coaching, and Networking Opportunities: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for mature workers.
- Offer Phased Retirement Options: Offer phased retirement options that allow mature workers to gradually reduce their workload.
- Offer Phased Re-Entry Options: Offer phased re-entry options for mature workers who are returning to work after retiring.
- Provide Workspace Accommodations: Provide workspace accommodations, such as age-appropriate ergonomic considerations, to meet the physical needs of mature workers.
- Offer Resources for Retirement Planning: Offer resources to help mature workers plan their retirement.
- Participate in Government or Community Programs: Participate in government or community programs that support members of visible minorities.
- Apply Hiring Policies: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities.
- Offer Mentorship Programs: Offer mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees.
