About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at Sandhu Dentistry. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Procedure Preparation
    • Prepare patients for dental examinations, ensuring they are comfortable and informed throughout the process.
    • Assist dentists and hygienists with procedures, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Supply Management
    • Order dental and office supplies, ensuring we have the necessary materials to provide exceptional patient care.
    • Maintain and organize supplies, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Administrative Support
    • Perform administrative functions, including scheduling appointments and confirming patient information.
    • Record dental procedures performed on patients, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Patient Education
    • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, promoting healthy habits and preventing dental issues.
    • Provide personalized guidance on fluoride and sealant applications, ensuring patients understand the importance of these treatments.
  • Instrument Maintenance
    • Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
    • Polish and buff dentures, ensuring they are comfortable and aesthetically pleasing for patients.
  • Communication
    • Communicate effectively with patients, dentists, and hygienists, ensuring seamless collaboration and exceptional patient care.
    • Respond to patient inquiries, addressing concerns and providing personalized support.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work collaboratively with the dental team, sharing knowledge and expertise to provide exceptional patient care.
    • Participate in ongoing training and education, staying up-to-date on the latest dental techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • Education
    • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience
    • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a dental setting.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Client focus and efficient interpersonal skills.
    • Flexibility, judgement, and a team player attitude.
    • Accurate, dependable, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Initiative, interpersonal awareness, and reliability.
