Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at Mazergroup. This position offers a permanent employment opportunity with a focus on maintaining and repairing heavy machinery.

Employment Details

Qualifications
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in a similar role
Work Environment
  • Outdoor settings
  • Exposure to dusty, hot, and noisy conditions
Responsibilities
  • Instruct apprentices in maintenance practices
  • Troubleshoot and inspect machinery to identify faults
  • Utilize computerized testing equipment for diagnostics
  • Adjust machinery and replace defective components
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records
  • Test machinery post-repair to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Attach and adjust components on new equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning and lubrication
  • Service heavy trucks and their attachments
Certifications
  • Agricultural Equipment Technician Red Seal Certificate
Training
  • Completion of Level Three and Level Four apprenticeship training
Safety and Security
  • Driving record check required
Transportation Requirements
  • Must have own transportation
  • Valid driver's license is necessary
Physical Demands
  • Physically demanding role requiring attention to detail
  • Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel
  • Manual dexterity and stamina for extended periods of standing
  • Ability to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Tools and Equipment
  • Must provide own tools
  • Steel-toed safety boots are required
