About the Role

Mazergroup is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment, and adjusting equipment and repairing or replacing defective parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and Inspect Equipment: Use your technical expertise to identify and diagnose equipment issues, and implement repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Perform Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on heavy trucks and farm equipment, ensuring that all work meets manufacturers' specifications.
  • Keep Maintenance Records: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs, including documentation of work performed and parts used.
  • Train and Mentor: Instruct apprentices and provide guidance and support to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications: Possess a Red Seal Certificate in Agricultural Equipment Technician and have completed level three and four apprenticeship training.
  • Experience and Skills: Have at least 3 years of experience in heavy duty mechanics, with a strong understanding of agricultural equipment and a proven track record of troubleshooting and repairing complex issues.
  • Physical Demands: Be physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Personal Qualities: Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and reliability.
