Job Summary

The Front Store Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the overall performance of the Front Store, which includes all areas of the store excluding Pharmacy. This position leads staff in providing exceptional customer service, manages processes and procedures, and ensures store objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations:
    • Ensure Store Standards are maintained to optimize customer experience, drive customer traffic, and positively impact store profitability
    • Collaborate with the Management Team to ensure Store Standards are in effect 100% of the time, including the backroom
    • Manage labour scheduling and leverage Work Force Management (WFM) to maximize labour productivity
    • Ensure adequate staffing levels to effectively operate the business
  • Human Resources:
    • Comply with Human Resources Standards
    • Recruit and/or support recruitment for all departments, excluding Pharmacy
    • Maintain wage administration within SLPH guidelines
    • Conduct probationary reviews for new hires and annual staff performance reviews
    • Manage staff performance through ongoing coaching, action planning, and follow-up
    • Drive Blue Culture, engagement, and lead and motivate staff through leading by our Core Values
  • Finance:
    • Analyze financial reports, identify trends, and address discrepancies between planned and actual through effective utilization of the FSM Monitoring Report
    • Meet period, quarterly, and annual targets
    • Set individual goals for departments to motivate employees and ensure goals are met
    • Develop and execute strategies to improve business efficiency at the store
    Requirements
    • Previous retail management experience for a minimum of 5 years
    • Demonstrated ability to drive the business, lead by example, and support corporate programs
    • Effectively work with the management team
    • Superior interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills
    • Strong business and financial acumen
    • Strong relationship builder with key internal and external agencies
