Role Overview:
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Housing Support Workers for our Community Homes for Opportunity (CHO) Program. This role is ideal for collaborative and innovative individuals who are committed to assisting clients in overcoming mental health challenges, enhancing their independence, and securing housing in the community.
Position Details:
This is a full-time position requiring 35 hours per week, with potential evening and weekend hours. The salary range for this role is between $54,800 and $58,700 per annum, commensurate with experience.
Work Environment:
The Housing Support Worker will have a hybrid work model, splitting time between remote work and community engagement. Responsibilities include direct client interaction and collaboration with other professionals.
Job Responsibilities:
The Housing Support Worker will operate within community-based residential settings, providing tailored support and wellness planning for clients. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting clients in maintaining their housing and integrating into the community.
- Offering budgeting and financial management support.
- Facilitating access to resources and services to promote independence and recovery.
- Collaborating with clients to identify strengths, needs, and develop actionable wellness plans.
- Engaging in advocacy initiatives to enhance resource accessibility.
Qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in health or social services.
- Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
- Relevant experience in community-based organizations supporting adults with serious mental illness.
- Knowledge of mental health legislation and recovery principles.
- A valid Canadian Full G driver's license and insurance coverage for client transport.
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check).
Working Conditions:
The role involves office work, community settings, and travel for client meetings.
