Position Overview

The User Support Technician plays a crucial role in assisting users who encounter challenges with their computer systems. This position is essential for maintaining a smooth operational flow within the organization.

Educational Requirements
  • Completion of a College or CEGEP program is preferred.
Work Environment
  • Office setting with a focus on collaborative problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
  • Address user inquiries and troubleshoot computer-related issues.
  • Utilize user manuals, technical documentation, and other resources to identify and implement effective solutions.
  • Provide guidance and training to users based on their specific challenges.
  • Maintain a comprehensive log of issues and resolutions for reference by fellow support analysts.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of applications and software through user feedback.
  • Oversee a team of technical support personnel within the department.
  • Deliver support for business systems, networks, and internet services as needed.
  • Facilitate the setup of equipment for staff, ensuring proper installation of necessary software and hardware.
  • Execute backup and recovery operations for web servers.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all users.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of 5-10 technical support staff.
Technical Proficiencies
  • Familiarity with Linux and JavaOS.
  • Knowledge of networking software and security protocols.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and MS Windows operating systems.
Work Conditions
  • Fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail.
  • Primarily sedentary work with extended periods of sitting.

Experience
