About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiological Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care while operating radiological/accessory equipment with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality care to our patients. You will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, applying the ALARA principle, and continuously remaining responsive to and responsible for each patient in your care.

As a Radiological Technologist with Nova Scotia Health Authority, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, fostering a culture of safety and excellence in patient care. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that values innovation, teamwork, and continuous learning.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Is a graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology
  • Has Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
  • Has Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Has previous experience in a similar role
  • Has qualification to work in more than one Diagnostic Imaging modality
  • Has Basic Life Support Certification
  • Has the ability to use time effectively by organizing and prioritizing duties, while working independently and under minimal supervision
  • Has the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position
  • Has demonstrated initiative, organizational and prioritizing skills; and the ability to work collaboratively within inter-professional teams
  • Has comprehension of the technical language in order to be able to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussions
  • Has competencies in other languages, with French being an asset
Hours

The successful candidate will work as a permanent part-time Radiological Technologist, with a 60-hour biweekly schedule. Shift work, call, evenings, nights, and weekends are required, with stand-by coverage may be required.

Compensation and Incentives

The hourly rate for this position is $37.54. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
