Position Overview

This role is integral to the strategic procurement and contract management framework within Island Health. The focus is on enhancing patient and staff safety through diligent oversight and compliance in procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Corporate Director of Legal Services, the Specialist will:

  • Provide expert guidance on procurement and contracting issues to internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in the planning, negotiation, and management of contracts, particularly those related to Cerner.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure adherence to best practices in contract management.
  • Support the identification and analysis of business requirements to mitigate risks associated with procurement.
  • Facilitate the integration of governance, risk, and compliance measures into procurement processes.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration.
  • Seven years of recent experience in procurement law, supply chain management, and contract oversight.
  • A recognized procurement or supply chain designation is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

The Specialist should demonstrate:

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in procurement and contract management.
