Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to join our team at North Eastern Trucking Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation management and be able to oversee the daily operations of our transportation department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and optimize daily transportation operations to ensure efficiency and productivity
  • Monitor and analyze departmental performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement plans to improve transportation schedules and policies
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management on transportation performance and trends
  • Recruit, train, and supervise transportation staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties
  • Manage transportation finances and budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness
  • Coordinate with shipping and logistics providers to ensure timely and efficient transportation of goods
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and laws
  • Develop and implement policies and standards for the transportation and storage of goods
  • Negotiate with service providers to secure preferential rates and services
  • Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods to ensure timely delivery
  • Monitor and analyze transportation revenue and expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness
  • Organize and maintain accurate records of transportation operations, including cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
Requirements
  • 1-7 months of experience in transportation management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
