The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Team Leader for our Transfers Operations to join our dedicated Operations team.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Team Leader for Transfers will oversee the Transfers Team, manage workload volumes, and ensure adherence to daily deadlines. Key supervisory responsibilities include recruiting, training, coaching, mentoring, and scheduling staff, along with managing the onboarding process for new employees and facilitating career development opportunities.

Your Daily Responsibilities:

  • Establish and monitor departmental standards for procedures, ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency while maintaining service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Foster a positive leadership environment by earning the respect of staff, peers, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely and appropriate training and development for team members.
  • Coach staff to enhance performance while promoting employee engagement and supporting the onboarding of new hires.
  • Maintain up-to-date processes and procedures in all manuals, including departmental SLAs.
  • Manage internal and external communications, coordinating with vendors and trustees as necessary.
  • Analyze current practices and identify opportunities for process improvements, making recommendations to streamline workflows.
  • Oversee departmental projects and participate in the implementation of initiatives as required.
  • Assist staff with escalated or complex issues, ensuring high levels of customer service are maintained.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and training, including cross-training to provide redundancy across team roles.
  • Review and approve daily journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
  • Report monthly on SLA standards, including exceptions, and develop business plans to manage resources during peak volumes.
  • Stay informed about industry standards and regulations relevant to the investment sector.
  • Collaborate with management for procedural reporting required by internal and external auditors.

Requirements:

Your Experience and Skills:

  • Post-secondary education with ongoing professional development in the Investment Industry, particularly in operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements; completion of IFIC and/or CSC is advantageous.
  • 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the investment sector, including at least 1 to 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Exceptional delegation, organizational, time management, and administrative skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Superior customer service skills with a focus on resolving issues satisfactorily.
  • Highly motivated and results-driven individual.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
  • Fluent in English, with bilingual proficiency in French considered an asset.

Salary:

This position offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 - $85,000 CAD annually, with individual compensation packages tailored to each candidate's qualifications and the role's requirements.
