Nature of the Work:

The role of the project development officer primarily involves the responsibility for research, analysis, and the formulation of initiatives centered around specific themes, such as community engagement, violence prevention, substance abuse awareness, assessment of business training requirements, organizational growth, technological support development, and evaluation of administrative processes. The project development officer is tasked with the planning, coordination, and execution of an action plan linked to a theme, utilizing both internal and external resources of the school board.

Characteristic Functions:

The project development officer plays a crucial role in the execution and revision of the school board's strategic plan concerning the assigned theme; as necessary, they familiarize themselves with various programs related to the project, evaluate their relevance, inform stakeholders, and facilitate their implementation. They assess community needs, identify available resources within and outside the network, consult with relevant parties, prepare an action plan, keep management informed about services and educational institutions, and provide recommendations.

Daily Tasks/Dossiers:

  • Design and implement service offerings related to the Lester B. Pearson Testing Centre
  • Oversee and manage standardized testing processes such as GED, GDT & TENS
  • Coordinate logistics for the administration of DEFL/DALF/TEFAQ examinations.
  • Act as a liaison with the French Embassy regarding DELF/DALF/TEFAQ
  • Create and organize new BSG workshops and training sessions (content development, scheduling, trainer selection, registration, promotion)
  • Collaborate with marketing to devise strategies for promoting various workshops, training sessions, and projects
  • Engage with internal and external partners to develop, organize, and ensure the successful execution of various initiatives
