Role Overview
As a Merchandise Analyst, you will collaborate with our Local Merchandising and Marketing teams, along with our Global Merchandising Excellence and Data & Analytics divisions. You will champion Data Driven Merchandising (DDM) initiatives, enabling data-informed decision-making and providing insights to local, national, and global teams regarding business metrics and execution strategies. Your role will involve supporting the adoption of analytical tools and resources. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and prioritization skills, with the ability to convert data into actionable insights. This position reports to the Merchandise Analytics Manager (MAM).
Key Responsibilities

- Exhibit thought leadership and serve as an Ambassador for Data Driven Merchandising initiatives, facilitating data-informed decision-making.
- Evaluate merchandise performance across various levels, including department, cluster, vendor, item, and location, focusing on pricing, promotions, and item assortment metrics.
- Assist the MAM in documenting strategic decisions related to pricing, promotions, and assortment at the Business Unit (BU) level.
- Utilize available tools and reporting to deliver timely insights on BU Merchandise performance, aiding in data-driven decision-making.
- Organize, summarize, and visualize data to convey complex findings to non-analytical colleagues.
- Drive insights into actions by collaborating with cross-functional partners to identify gaps and recommend improvements to existing DDM tools and processes.
- Apply technical expertise to conceptualize and develop new, reusable tools, models, and methodologies to provide insights and recommendations aligned with business objectives.
- Support the MAM in the annual DDM planning process for the business unit.
- Engage with our Global Analytical network on data and analytics topics, sharing experiences with other Business Units.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to achieve operational excellence within the business unit.
- Enhance professional and technical knowledge through workshops, professional publications, and networking opportunities.
- Contribute to team efforts by achieving Financial and Key Result Area targets in accordance with Company Plan guidelines.
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field, along with 2+ years of experience in data analysis.
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Demonstrated analytical skills, logical reasoning, and data interpretation abilities.
- Experience collaborating with individuals across various organizational functions and levels.
- Retail experience is advantageous.
