Inviro Engineered Systems Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Energy Efficiency Specialist to join our team. As an employee, you will have the opportunity to work on multiple challenging projects in the ICI sector, utilizing your skills in building energy modelling and analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Building Energy Modelling: Perform detailed building energy modelling using applicable software, such as eQuest and EnergyPlus, to evaluate and analyze various building energy measures.
- Design Review and Analysis: Review and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical design drawings to ensure compliance with energy efficiency standards and building codes.
- Take-off Calculations: Perform take-off calculations for all building elements and parameters required for energy modelling.
- Energy Model Development: Develop proposed and referenced case energy models as per modelling procedures and rules from applicable reference guidelines, standards, and codes.
- Design Recommendations: Provide design recommendations to improve energy efficiency of buildings, based on energy modelling results.
- Documentation and Submittals: Prepare detailed responses to energy model reviews and audits from various modelling authorities, and assist in preparation of submittals for LEED certification.
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Building Sciences, or a related field.
- Work Experience: Work experience related to building performance modelling, audit, and/or evaluation is an asset.
- Software Skills: Working knowledge of energy modelling software such as eQuest and EnergyPlus.
- Industry Knowledge: Sound knowledge of SB-10, ASHRAE standards (90.1, 62.1, etc.), NECB, and energy requirements in building codes.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are an asset.
