Job Summary

The Health Care Aide (HCA) is an integral member of our interprofessional healthcare team, providing on-going client care and support. This role involves observing, monitoring, and reporting on client status, including changes in physical and emotional status. The HCA ensures that changes in client status are reported to the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure.
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards at all times.
  • Responsible for other related duties as required.
Program Overview

Our Complex Care program provides a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for frail seniors who require the care of an interdisciplinary team to maintain and improve quality of life. We offer a mix of secured and unsecured units.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Graduation from Grade 12 is required, plus graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English is required.
  • Must be physically capable of managing the frequent lifting, transferring, and repositioning of clients.
  • Active and current registration in the Alberta HCA Directory is required.
  • Related experience in a healthcare facility is an asset.
