Lead Fundraising and Communications Expert

Position Overview: The Senior Specialist in Fundraising and Communications is a permanent role that reports directly to the Director of Communications, Marketing, and Fundraising. This position is crucial for implementing a cohesive communications strategy that leverages both traditional and digital channels to enhance brand recognition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute a detailed fundraising strategy along with an annual action plan aimed at achieving regional fundraising objectives to support Carefor's programs and services.
- Design and implement integrated marketing and communication campaigns targeting external audiences through various mediums including advertising, direct outreach, and social media.
- Identify and craft compelling narratives from clients, care-partners, staff, and volunteers to enrich regional communication and fundraising initiatives.
- Promote the organization by:
- Creating engaging content across all digital and social media platforms with the assistance of the Communications and Fundraising team.
- Overseeing the design, production, and editorial processes for print materials.
- Engaging with local media by drafting press releases, coordinating media interactions, and addressing routine inquiries.
- Maintain a comprehensive prospect list and collaborate with Regional Council members to identify and nurture relationships with potential and existing donors.
- Monitor and report on progress towards fundraising targets.
- Coordinate with vendors to enhance communications and fundraising strategies.
- Develop and manage the budget for fundraising activities.
- Plan, organize, and execute fundraising events.
- Secure and manage sponsorships, both in-kind and monetary.
- Record and track donations, ensuring accurate updates in the donor database.
Qualifications:
- A post-secondary degree in communications or a related discipline (e.g., marketing, journalism, or fundraising).
- Certification as a Fund-Raising Executive is advantageous.
- A minimum of three years of experience in leading communication efforts and developing social media campaigns.
- Experience in fundraising is preferred.
- Familiarity with volunteer coordination for fundraising activities is a plus.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere Pro.
- Experience in video production is beneficial.
- Exceptional writing and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
- Remote work options are available, though the candidate must be able to work from the office as required.
