BC Children's Hospital is actively seeking a dedicated Pediatric Interventional Radiologist to enhance our esteemed Department of Radiology. This role is pivotal in providing specialized imaging services to children and families across the province.

Situated in a vibrant city, BC Children's Hospital operates as a 220-bed tertiary and quaternary care facility, committed to delivering exceptional healthcare to the youth of British Columbia. The successful candidate will collaborate with a dynamic team of 16 Pediatric and Interventional Radiologists, ensuring high-quality imaging services and consultations throughout the region.

The radiology department, located within a modern facility, is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including 3T MRI, CT, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, fluoroscopy, radiography, and advanced angiography/IR systems.

The Pediatric Interventional Radiology service currently comprises two part-time specialists, providing a comprehensive range of procedures such as:

  • Diagnostic angiography and vascular interventions
  • Neuro-interventions
  • Hepatobiliary and renal transplant interventions
  • Vascular malformation therapies
  • Long-term vascular access
  • GI tract access and dilatation
  • Joint injections
  • Biopsies
  • Pain management
  • Oncologic interventions

The successful applicant will engage in clinical responsibilities, dedicating up to 50% of their time to diagnostic Pediatric Radiology.

Teaching and clinical research are integral components of this role. The Department of Radiology is affiliated with a leading university, offering training programs in Pediatric Radiology and Interventional Radiology. Candidates are expected to exhibit strong communication skills and a commitment to advancing academic radiology. Academic time will be allocated for research and educational pursuits.

Applicants must be eligible for medical licensure in British Columbia and possess or be eligible for certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Radiology. Completion of recognized fellowships in both Pediatric Radiology and Interventional Radiology is required.

The selected candidate will be recommended for a clinical faculty appointment at the affiliated university, with academic rank based on qualifications as determined by the Department of Radiology.
