Job Summary

The City of Brampton is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Director to lead the strategic direction and operations of the Youth Hub. This is a critical role that requires a strong leader with a passion for youth development and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the strategic vision and goals for the Youth Hub, ensuring alignment with the City's strategic goals and community youth needs.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of specialized youth programs and services, ensuring they are innovative, engaging, and meet the developmental needs of participants.
  • Manage and support a team of staff, including instructors and specialists, providing guidance, professional development, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure the financial sustainability of the hub by developing budgets and managing resources effectively.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders to support the hub's initiatives and expand its reach.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safety, mental well-being, and holistic development of all participants and staff.
  • Lead targeted marketing and outreach efforts to promote the youth hub and increase community engagement and participation.
  • Monitor and report on program outcomes, community impact, and operational efficiency to stakeholders, with a focus on youth development metrics.
  • Stay informed about trends and best practices in youth development, mental health, and career readiness, and incorporate innovative approaches to enhance the hub's offerings.
  • Organize and lead community events, outreach activities, and special projects that promote youth leadership and community involvement.
  • Understand, apply, enforce, and adhere to Corporate Policies and Procedures, Emergency Procedures, and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff.
  • Action and report all concerns, accidents, and incidents to immediate supervisor for follow-up.
  • Travel between locations as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role within youth development, mental health services, community services, or a related field.
  • Strong strategic planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple specialized projects and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire staff, participants, and community stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation, specifically tailored to youth.
  • Financial management skills, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all youth participants.
  • A strong network of community connections and an understanding of local resources and youth needs.
  • Flexibility to work part-time up to 24 hours/week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Current Standard First Aid / CPR C from an accredited organization, or ability to obtain within 1 month of the date of hire.
  • High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development or Sport Certification, considered an asset.
  • Current Mental Health First Aid Certification, or willing to obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
