Your future role at BBA Consultants
BBA Consultants is actively seeking a Civil 3D Designer to enhance our capabilities in the natural resources and energy sectors, including renewables, mining, pulp and paper, biofuels, and oil and gas.
The primary responsibilities will include preparing construction drawings for infrastructure projects, which encompass site civil design (including wet utility design, site grading, and drainage), roadway design, and stormwater management systems.

Responsibilities include:

Developing 3D models for earthworks, roadworks, drainage systems, and underground utilities
Creating detailed drawings and sketches
Collaborating with mechanical, structural, electrical, and environmental teams on multidisciplinary projects
Presenting findings and results through discussions, graphic presentations, and project documentation
Coordinating with multidiscipline 3D model coordinators using Navisworks
Working with project teams to address design challenges and implement solutions
Ensuring adherence to CAD standards and templates specific to the discipline while maintaining quality control
Designing or modifying complex layouts and drawings based on general specifications from the project team
Maintaining and updating design records for future reference
Proficiency in Civil 3D, Global Mapper, or other GIS software, and Navisworks

Overview of qualifications and job requirements

Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, with proven expertise in drafting/CAD technology or similar preferred
At least 5 years of experience in preparing design drawings (using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D) related to site development
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with national and local regulations concerning site drainage and erosion control
Ability to interpret and understand both 2D and 3D drawings
Asset: Knowledge of surveying principles
Asset: Proficient in ARC-GIS software.
