Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Operations Director will be responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing plans to ensure high standards of manufacturing operations. This includes establishing procedures to maintain quality standards, achieving optimal employee levels, and reducing costs. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in manufacturing management, including experience in team building, change management, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement manufacturing plans to ensure high standards of manufacturing operations.
  2. Establish procedures to maintain quality standards and reduce costs.
  3. Direct and monitor department supervisors to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan.
  4. Hire, train, develop, and evaluate staff, including performance management and conflict resolution.
  5. Ensure compliance with current federal, provincial, and local regulations.
  6. Consult with the Human Resources Department as appropriate.
  7. Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap.
  8. Direct the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of production standards.
  9. Direct and coordinate various programs essential to manufacturing procedures.
  10. Initiate and coordinate major projects, such as plant layout changes and installation of capital equipment.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing management, including 3+ years as a superintendent or manufacturing manager.
  2. Labor relations experience is strongly preferred, but not required.
  3. Demonstrated success with team building, change management, continuous improvement, conflict management, and driving cost performance.
  4. Outstanding communication skills (oral, written, presentation) are required.
  5. The successful candidate will personify our core values, lead by example, and act collaboratively within a matrixed environment.
  6. Bachelor's Degree in Business/Finance/Management/Operations or another related field is required.
  7. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree, Six Sigma, Green Belt, or Black Belt certification.
