Canadian Base Operators is expanding its Firebag Airport team. We are seeking dedicated and collaborative professionals eager to contribute to a dynamic and innovative environment.

The Ramp Operations Specialist role is based at Firebag Airport, reporting directly to the Ramp Agent Team Lead. The primary responsibilities include executing Ground Support and Ramp Operations tasks, such as aircraft de-icing, marshalling, operating ground support equipment, and managing baggage handling, all performed safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will also undertake various skilled and unskilled tasks to ensure seamless operations for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Marshalling aircraft in and out of the aerodrome.
  • Operating ground start equipment effectively.
  • Performing aircraft de-icing and anti-icing procedures.
  • Loading and unloading baggage efficiently.
  • Utilizing various ground support equipment.
  • Greeting and checking in passengers, verifying their documents and identification.
  • Managing gate operations and ensuring timely flight closures.
  • Exhibiting strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fostering teamwork with colleagues, pilots, flight attendants, and contractors.
  • Coordinating the safe loading and unloading of passengers to and from transport vehicles.
  • Adhering to environmental regulations and minimizing health impacts in operations.
  • Maintaining clean and hazard-free workspaces while wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Lifting items up to 50 pounds as required.
  • Utilizing computer systems for passenger check-in and online training.
  • Conducting safety, environmental, and quality checks as needed.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Education Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or GED equivalent.
  • Certifications such as Common Safety Orientation, Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness, and Hydrogen Sulfide Awareness are advantageous.
  • 1+ years of experience in Ramp or Aviation Operations is preferred.
  • AVOP certification is a plus.

Work Experience Requirements:

1-3 years of experience in ramp operations within the aviation sector.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of established aviation practices and procedures.
  • Understanding of applicable local and federal labor codes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel, with transportation provided from major cities.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Previous experience in aircraft de-icing and ground handling is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screening.
  • Annual driver's abstract.
  • Criminal record check.
