Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our team at the Chelsea Hotel, Toronto. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all goods received into the hotel meet our high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Verify invoices against purchase orders and report any discrepancies to the Purchasing team
  • Receive and inspect non-food items, verifying quality and cost
  • Assist the kitchen porter with putting away fresh produce and perishable items
  • Enter invoices and packing slips into our inventory management system
  • Receive chemicals and ensure proper labeling and safety protocols are followed
  • Clean and maintain a safe working environment
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols when handling hazardous materials

Business Requirements

  • Adhere to hotel key standards when interacting with stakeholders, including suppliers, guests, and employees

Customer Satisfaction

  • Receive and log incoming couriers, transferring small items to the Concierge Desk and storing larger items for pick-up and delivery to guest rooms
  • Answer guest and employee questions, directing them to relevant resources as needed

Process Improvement/ Productivity

  • Communicate openly with management to report challenges and issues

Requirements

  • Previous hotel experience in stores, receiving, or F&B is an asset
  • Computer skills, including Adaco and Opera, are required
  • Good command of the English language, both written and oral
  • Able to stand for long periods and lift and bend as required
