Job Summary

The Senior Communications Advisor – Education and Training is a key member of the Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami (ITK) Communications department, responsible for managing the organization's experiential learning program for Senior Federal Government Executives. This program aims to advance the rights and interests of Inuit, and the Advisor plays a crucial role in its success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Management: Manage all aspects of the experiential learning program, including presenting to Senior Federal Officials, traveling with the group, facilitating discussions, leading training modules, and coordinating logistics.
  • Training Development: Develop training modules and manage a virtual and Ottawa-based in-person training program for government and other ITK partners.
  • Policy Advancement: Implement core training deliverables of the Inuit Crown Partnership Committee, policy advancement, and research workplans.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Communication: Develop and present training materials, implement an evaluation system for the training program, and coordinate with Inuit Regions on setting up agendas.
  • Collaboration: Work with ITK staff on the planning and delivery of the program, liaise with government and other partners to schedule the Ottawa training program.
  • Content Creation: Write content for ITK publications, conduct focused media interviews, and create content for ITK publications as required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), with basic photography skills.
  • Language Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with Inuktut and/or French an asset.
Education and Experience

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance is evident. ITK's Human Resources Policies may make you eligible for a Training Allowance and Relocation Allowance.
