GFL Environmental is a leading diversified environmental services company seeking a skilled Bilingual Recruitment Specialist to support our growth in Ottawa.

You will be responsible for cultivating relationships with our operations and business partners to identify top-tier talent within the local market. Your expertise will be crucial in overseeing the entire recruitment lifecycle, including reviewing, screening, and recommending suitable candidates for specific business lines.

As a strategic partner to the business units you support, you will spearhead key initiatives within your designated regions. Your ability to manage high-volume recruiting processes, establish strong relationships with local Human Resources and operational hiring leaders, and collaborate with local educational institutions will be essential in attracting quality talent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage high-volume recruiting processes by partnering with field operations leadership to determine staffing needs within an assigned territory.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with local Human Resources, operational hiring leaders, and collaborate with local educational institutions.
  • Organize and execute job fairs to connect with local talent.
  • Review applicant resumes, conduct preliminary phone interviews, and coordinate interviews and assessments between candidates and hiring teams.
  • Create and develop sourcing strategies, headhunt, and use outside-the-box ideas to attract quality talent.
  • Leverage community networking events and manage college and university partnership programs.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, manage candidate activity in the Workday Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and maintain application/resume file retention according to company policy.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in French
  • Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Valid Driver's License
